Kimberly Sallingboe is the founder of Sallingboe Communications. She has over 12 years’ experience in marketing and communications in both the United States and Denmark, working for large, international companies such as A.P. Moller – Maersk and Saxo Bank.
When speaking about her own approach to copywriting, Kimberly explains, “I think the most important factor for me is securing an understanding of the client’s needs and concerns. That’s the key to everything.”
“I’ve seen a tendency in Denmark that native English speakers often fall into the role of language experts because they are native speakers. But I think it’s important for companies to realise that it’s not just about speaking the language from birth. It’s about having a passion for language, to the extent that you notice things about content that others don’t. And it’s about coupling that passion with a corporate awareness, so that you’re not just producing copy for yourself, but for the target audience.”
In her spare time, Kimberly lectures at the Danish Institute for Study Abroad (DIS).
